Day 5: Choose quality over quantity, avoid excess
I have a confession to make. I am a jean snob (and addict). I prefer to spend money on a nicer pair of jeans that I know fits well and will last a long time. But I don’t like to spend a lot of money on other items. A lot of time, in our efforts to accumulate crap to make us feel better, we forget that quality really is better than quantity. We need to get rid of the idea of accumulating a lot of things and focus on what really matters.
This applies to people as well. Quality friendships, and time with those people, are what’s really important in life. Acquiring a lot of friends, or things, only helps to add to the business and clutter of our lives. Have the things and relationships that we truly need will only help to deepen and enrich our lives.
Journal/Thought prompt: “What do you collect that you don’t need? ““When was the last time you went through your closet or list of priorities in your social calendar?” “What excess can you get rid of in your life to help simplify?”
