Amazing how long and how fast at the same time one month can be! I can’t believe that our little boy is already over a month old and how much he has changed in that month. He is almost 10 lbs now and getting chins and rolls and is absolutely adorable. Funny how our new past time is watching him while he sleeps, and trying to convince ourselves that his, most likely gas induced, smile is for us (we really do think he’s starting to smile at us more and it’s not just a reaction). We are still sleep deprived but falling more into a rhythm and hope that he will start sleeping longer and longer stretches at night. Our normal conversation has been replaced by why type of poop is in his diaper, what could be causing his gas, and what time is the optimal time to put him to bed (and how do you get him to do a dream feed..???)
They say that it gets easier, or that you just get better at it. I have not felt like myself since he arrived in our home, but I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I’m adjusting to a new role, a new job title, and it’s the most challenging one I’ve had yet. We are starting to get more adventurous with where we take him and even made it to church again this past weekend. I love watching this little human and am amazed that he’s mine and Ryan’s, that he is a part of us. It is getting a little easier and we are thankful that he is as good of a little boy as he is.
